Hayat Selim is an Egyptian London-based media composer, singer-songwriter, and recording artist. She moved to the United Kingdom in 2017 on a scholarship to do her master's in composition for screen at the Royal College of Music, London and graduated in 2019.
Hayat’s compositional work varies from game and film music to advertisement and her solo artist project in various genres, mainly fusing Western classical cinematic orchestration with world music influences. In 2018 she was profiled in Meagan Marie book "Women in Gaming: 100 Professionals of Play" for her work in the Indie gaming industry in Egypt and her soundtrack "The Great Red Spot" for a virtual reality experience was broadcast on BBC 3 Radio's Late Junction show for the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11.
Hayat's original song and composition ‘Mirage’ for the short film by Lena Srinivasan was nominated in the ‘Best Song’ category of the Jerry Goldsmith Awards 2019 and started opening doors in singing on media projects.
In 2020, Hayat was commissioned by Sonuscore and Steinberg to be the featured singer of the ‘Ethnic Vocal Phrases’ virtual instrument library and has sung on various video game and film soundtracks since.

What genres do you sing in exactly?
I have two sides of my singer career, the original song and arrangements side which is mainly fusing Western cinematic composition with world music influences (from the Middle East, Celtic music, Africa and India) The other possibility: singing pop songs, songs from musicals and films in different events depending on client needs; preferably they would share the setlist of preferred songs such that I can learn and suggest others for those outside my capability
