Born Derrick Jerome Simmons aka Simmy Automatik, on February 4th, 1984, in Lake Charles, Louisiana where he currently resides. Simmy, being the only child, has had musical influences throughout his life with his father being a DJ, and his mother, an influential gospel singer.

Simmy began writing music and poetry at the age of 13 and continuously has been a force to be reckoned with ever since. He credits his music aspirations to his cousin Shawn. His musical influences are an assortment of artist such as R. Kelly, Kanye West, James Brown, and Timbland just to name a few.

Simmy has produced, engineered and wrote songs for various artists in Dallas, TX, Atlanta, GA, Lake Charles, LA & Wichita, KS. Goal oriented and passionate to succeed, Simmy is planning to take over the industry and soon the world with his versatile and eccentric style of music.
