Biography
I’m a BAFTA nominated magician, co-directed Dynamo’s sold-out London show and work as a creative consultant across his TV projects, including his upcoming Sky Max series. I’m also a Britain’s Got Talent finalist and regularly perform at some of the most exclusive, high-end events in London and around the world. My work focuses on contemporary, hyper-visual magic and mind reading that feels cinematic, immersive and genuinely memorable - the kind of experience people usually only see on TV and talk about long after an event ends.

Requirements
- Magician tech rider
- SOUND
- Darren connects his own laptop through its headphone socket via a DI Box to the sound system behind the stage/in the wings – if a DI box is unavailable,
- a female XLR cable will be required. He uses a remote control system to control the entire show playlist from the stage during his performance – he brings
- this system with him. A trained sound technician for the duration of his sound check and performance will be required.
- Venue or promoter must also provide the following –
- • 1 x Wireless Mic belt pack with a mini-jack (Sennheiser), 3-pin Lemo or TA4F (Shure) connection for his DPA headset.
- • 1 x Wireless handheld mic for audience participation
- • 1 x Floor standing fold back monitor to be located along the front of the stage area.
- LIGHTING
- Darren’s performance requires the entire audience to be able to see the show. Therefore, a sufficient lighting ’wash’ on stage is a minimum requirement.
- If the venue/promoter has a full stage lighting system with a trained operator for the duration of the performance, the lighting states will be decided with
- Darren during the sound check and rehearsal.
- STAGE
- 1 x Poseur table, approx. 1m high (table top approx. 50cm x 50cm square or 60cm round) - not always required, please check with Darren ahead of the
- event. The show includes sections where members of the audience join him onstage. Depending on the length of the show, there may need to be room
- for up to 5 extra people onstage. Please check with Darren if there are any queries regarding the stage size. Stair access between the stage and the audience
- is required. The stage should be cleaned and clear of any hazards or obstructions prior to his performance.
- VISION
- Darren operates all visuals live from his own laptop, including the holding slide, show graphics and introduction video. These are played directly via HDMI,
- with audio output to the PA system. To run the visuals himself, Darren requires an HDMI lead to be run from the screen(s) to the location of his laptop. The
- laptop is typically positioned behind the stage, in the wings or just off the performance area, allowing Darren easy access during the show. This position
- is usually separate from the sound and lighting desks.
- If a live feed camera is being used (recommended for larger rooms or audiences), a vision mixing operator and dedicated camera operator will be required
- in addition to Darren’s setup.
- If running an HDMI feed from the laptop location is impractical, Darren can supply all screen content (holding slide, graphics and intro video) on a USB
- stick during sound check and rehearsal for a technician to operate.
