Biography
Musician, composer, Afro-Colombian drummer and performer of the Colombian gaitas. Born in Bucaramanga, Colombia. He began his formal music studies at the age of 12 under the guidance of maestro Benjamín López in El Socorro, Santander, Colombia. At the age of 14, he recorded his first single entitled "Al abismo". Comprehensive Music Technician with an emphasis on Musical Didactics from the MUSITEC Bucaramanga, Colombia Institute of Musical Sciences. Music Teacher at the Bucaramanga Municipal School of Arts. Manager and producer of Gaitas y Tambores de San Jacinto (Colombia) and Rescate Cultural (Ecuador). He is dedicated to the research, production and pedagogy of peasant music.
He has played, composed and conducted ensembles with international musicians such as Todd Cooper from the Alan Parson Project (USA), Uri Gurvich (ISR), Walt Szymanski (USA), Grecia Albán (ECU), Panagiotis Andreous (GRE), Karina Clavijo (ECU) , Luna Sureña (ARG), Alex Alvear (ECU), Fabricio Conde (BRA), Alex Terrier (FRA), Ahmed Fofana (MALI), Isaac Abeyie (GHA), Jacobo Vélez (COL), Edson Velandia (COL).
