Kawkab is an Egyptian rock band based in Cairo and founded in 2014 with the perspective of fusing rock music with electronic sounds and beats mixed with oriental music to bring forth a whole new experience.

Originally the band was founded in 2014 by Hesham Kawkab, then Kareem Hussien joined him in 2016 and Ahmed El Zanaty Joined them in 2018, finally, the band lineup was officially established in Jan 2018 and the rest joined soon after.

In the same year, the band was chosen to compete in "Etisalat Battle Of The Bands 2018" among more than 800 bands all-around Egypt. After a lot of struggle and hardworking, on the 20th of July 2018 "Kawkab" was enthroned as the champion of "Etisalat Battle Of The Bands 2018".
